The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Zameer Uddin Shah inaugurated the “AMU Cycle Mart”, a unique initiative, at Raza Lodge, opposite Sir Sulaiman Hall Gate, Anoopshahar Road, Aligarh, towards achieving the target of a green and clean campus.
The Week-Hansa Research has placed the Aligarh Muslim University at fifth position in its prestigious Best Universities Survey 2014.
Published in the June 1, 2014 issue of The Week, the survey report has included fifty universities in its study, giving fifth rank to the Aligarh Muslim University with a score of 502 out of 1000. University of Delhi holds the first position with a score of 717. Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and University of Hyderabad hold second, third and fourth positions respectively.
Professor Mohammad Gulrez, Director, Center for South African and Brazilian Studies, Aligarh Muslim University will deliver the keynote address at the International Seminar on “Social inequalities in higher education: Identifying parallels in India and Brazil” during May 23-24, 2014 at the Department of Adult, Continuing Education and Extension, University of Pune, Maharashtra. Professor Gulrez said that speakers from Brazil and India would discuss the various aspects of social inequalities in higher education in the two countries.
